Now accepting students for 2026.
Your musical journey starts here.
Teaching Philosophy
Music education cultivates empathy, dedication, and critical thinking—skills that support students well beyond their time in the music room. Because every learner arrives with unique strengths and experiences, I adapt my instruction to honor who they are and how they grow. We dive deep into practice strategies and celebrate improvement over perfection.
My Experience
I work for the Endangered Instruments Program through Seattle Youth Symphony, leading group viola sectionals in multiple schools throughout Seattle.
In 2025, I began teaching West Seattle Community Orchestra’s Beginning Strings 2 class, where I lead a group of young musicians and prepare them for auditioning for the Debut Orchestra.
I’ve lead numerous sectionals in schools, youth orchestras, and community ensembles, and maintain a private teaching studio in Queen Anne, Seattle.
What to Expect from Weekly Lessons
Foundational technique, from a comfortable set up to fun ways to play scales. We check in every week with posture, left and right hand technique, and how those help us stay loose and create a beautiful sound.
Etudes or study pieces that help us with a specific technique but in a fun way!
Repertoire tailored to the student. I pull pieces from Suzuki and other reputable methods to both challenge yet support the students current level.
Aural training and Improvisation in the form of listening games and mini jam sessions!
Songs of the students choice. I will find or make arrangements of the students favorite pop songs!
Practice Strategies- I love teaching students the HOW of practicing.
A yearly studio recital. A chance for the student to perform what they’ve been working on!
